Aston Martin DB9

“There are no angles from which this car does not look good, and the rear haunches, whether seen from outside or in your mirrors, are exquisite. It’s achingly beautiful.”
- Road & Track Magazine

In a memorable scene from the third James Bond film – 1964’s Goldfinger – a humorless “Q” attempts to acquaint 007 with the newest automobile from MI6’s Q-Branch:

“You'll be using this Aston Martin DB with modifications.
Now, pay attention please.”

Audiences were astonished and amused as Q itemized the Aston’s inventory of concealed weaponry and high-tech gadgets. With Goldfinger, Aston Martin’s gorgeous DB5 became one of the most iconic automobiles in cinematic history. And though many other marques appeared in successive 007 movies, no automaker is more closely associated with the celebrated British super-spy than England’s own Aston Martin. In fact, the two most recent Bond adventures – Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace – both feature Aston Martin’s flagship DBS which is based on the dazzling DB9.

Introduced in 2004, the DB9 is a thoroughly modern, hand-crafted masterpiece. As one might expect, it has a decidedly British demeanor that strikes a sublime balance between strength and splendor. It features the cachet of a silken 6.0L V-12 engine that will snarl like a vintage Le Mans racer and catapult you to breathtaking speeds upon command of your right foot. The DB9 is also endowed with an extraordinarily stiff aluminum structure that combines with a well-sorted suspension to deliver handling that is balanced and responsive. The result is a magnificent machine that goes about its business with an authority and confidence that few other automobiles possess.

As befitting its stunningly sculpted aluminum body, the DB9’s interior is as handsomely tailored as a Savile Row suit. With flawless leatherwork by Bridge of Weir, a striking center console that dramatically sweeps down from the windshield and jewel-like instruments, the DB9’s cabin is a symphony of sophistication.

The lovely DB9 is a beguiling blend of beauty and refinement – a spectacular gran turismo that is a pleasure to drive and a never-ending joy to behold.
