Chevrolet Corvette Z06

“Here's what you need to know about the Z06: It's raw. It's loud. It'll run 11-second quarters, pull almost 1.2 g through a turn, and, if you're brave enough, reach to almost 200 mph on the road.” - Motor Trend Magazine

Your lasting impression of this mega-Corvette is likely to be formed the moment you hear the thoroughly modern – yet old-school – 7.0L pushrod monster-motor roar to life. At idle, the muted mechanical noises will suddenly erupt into big-block baritone rage under the command of your right foot. The engine’s magnificent Motown music is fully unleashed at 3,500 rpm courtesy of butterfly valves in the Z06’s exhaust system that open-up so the V-8 can bellow at full song. Keep your right foot down and this 427 cubic-inch beast will rev to an astonishing – and quite Ferrari-like – 7,000 rpm producing 505 thundering horsepower along the way.

Taking its name from a class of small maneuverable warships, Chevrolet’s iconic Corvette is one of the world’s longest-running automotive nameplates having been in production since 1953. The high-performance Z06 version of the sixth-generation Corvette debuted in 2006. But for those who think the Z06 is just another Corvette, think again.

Designed and developed alongside the Le Mans class-winning C6.R racer, the Z06 shares much of its technology, construction techniques and exotic materials with the C6.R. To reduce weight – the enemy of performance – Corvette engineers made extensive use of aluminum (frame, suspension), carbon fiber (front fenders) and magnesium (roof structure, engine cradle, floorboard). While Chevrolet’s obsession to expunge every possible pound from the Z06 is praiseworthy, it is the astounding LS7 V-8 that defines the Z06. With its endless supply of weapons-grade torque, power is available anywhere–anytime–in any gear–at any speed. Just press the go-pedal and hold on.

The Z06 is a true supercar that will dazzle you with its stunning performance. It will make you sweat, make you grin and make you feel years younger. You’ll have the time of your life in this “plastic fantastic”.
